Arneis 2023
$33.00
NEARLY SOLD OUT
After visiting Piedmont a couple of times to help make wine, i fell in love with this indigenous variety of North West Italy. I had initially gone there to learn about the renowned Nebbiolo, but the other varieties of this area intrigued me as well. Th name Arneis is derived from Piemontese dialect meaning “the little rascal” due to its difficulty to grow in the vineyard. The wine shows aromatic floral notes with yellow apple, peach with a hint of almond and honey. Like many Italian wines, perfect to match to food and balances the fruit flavours with zippy acid on the palate.
Grown on the highest altitude vineyard in Victoria. A lovely modern Pinot Gris that walks the line between Grigio and Gris. The cool climate fruit gives grapefruit citrus, green apple & pear with the building of the palate weight giving a textural edge to balance the crisp fruit.
Drink: Drinking well now
Food: Seared scallops, frittata, pear & blue cheese salad
